Little Haven nestles in a quiet cove in the southern corner of St. Brides Bay in
Pembrokeshire. It is undoubtedly one of the most delightful seaside villages in
the whole of Wales. The settlement dates back to the iron age and was once a base
for sea trading and smuggling.
Nowadays the safe, sandy beach is well used by inshore fishermen, dinghy sailors,
windsurfers and families carrying buckets and spades. The village is popular meeting
place for visitors and local people with three pubs, bistro, village shop and post

A picturesque inlet with sand and shingles at high tide. At low tide the sandy beach

storm in 1859. Kite surfing and surfing are popular on this beach. There are 3 car
parks along the length of the beach, 2 are pay and display.
- St. Brides Bay
An attractive little cove with sand at low tide. It has interesting rock pools,
safe bathing and good snorkelling. It is sheltered from the prevailing south-west
winds and has lovely views over St Brides Bay.
- Dale
A shingle beach with some sand, very popular with wind surfers and launching boats.
Dale has an active Yacht Club that holds many regattas during the summer months
and West Wales Windsurfing is based here.
Dogs on Beaches
All of Pembrokeshire’s beaches, over 50, welcome
dogs. You can choose from wide expanses of golden sand such as Marloes or secluded
bays such as Little Haven. During the height of the summer, 1st May to the end of
September, some of the more popular bathing beaches have dog restrictions (Broad
Haven, Dale, Poppit, Whitesands, Newgale, Lydstep, Tenby Castle, Tenby Harbour,
Tenby South, Tenby North, Saundersfoot, and Amroth). Whitesands has a total ban
of dogs in the summer. All other beaches have areas where you can take a dog.
There are notice boards on all of the dog restricted beaches with full details of
the byelaws and maps of the restricted areas. During the summer months there are
signs out on the beach, which identify the start and end of a dog restriction area.
Please remember to clean up after your dog.
